Deepika Padukone and Saif Ali Khan were a hit jodi in Love Aaj Kal. Sources tell us that she is all set to join the cast of Agent Vinod as a parallel lead.
Kareena Kapoor had made her displeasure known when post the success of Jab We Met, Imtiaz Ali cast Deepika Padukone in Love Aaj Kal instead of her. Anyway, Saif produced the film which turned out to be a blockbuster.Moreover, Saif has been paired with Kareena in Tashan, Roadside Romeo, and Kurbaan and all three films were duds. "Kareena is a professional and she has the lead role in Agent Vinod, so she has no qualms with Deepika joining the cast. Anyway, Kareena and Saif are not paired together in the film," informs a source.
"Deepika is tall and athletic so people will accept her in an action role. Moreover, she has a huge fan following and this is a different role for her so that will be an added attraction for the film. Her role is that of the parallel lead and is obviously significant," adds the source.
Producer Dinesh Vijan has approached Deepika for the role and is working out the details of the same. He denied the story while Deepika Padukone remained unavailable for comment.
