Asha Bhosle To Play The Role Of Indira Gandhi


Veteran singer Asha Bhosle has revealed that she was once offered to play the role of Indira Gandhi, the 'iron lady’ of Indian politics, in a musical in Britain.

"Years ago I was asked to play Indira Gandhi in a UK musical play.

Condition: I had to live in London. I refused," she posted on her microblogging site Twitter.

Asha Bhosale Share Some Interesting Memories About Football World Cup


Football fever is on and singer Asha Bhosale is quite kicked about Football World Cup this year. Her love and excitement for the game has compelled her to share some interesting memories about the game.

Asha Bhosale who performed at 1978 World Cup in London reveals that her husband and popular music director R D Burman (Pancham da) was a big football fan and used to watch a lot of football matches. “Pancham & I performed at 1978 World Cup for the 1st time in London (Albert Hall) when Mario Kempes guided Argentina to victory”, she reminisces.

Being excited about FIFA World Cup, Asha also shares some interesting facts about football lover Pancham’s favorite team. Pancham supported East Bengal Club. He was mad fan of Pele & everything Brazil. I'll be supporting Brazil as always. Cha Cha Cha!”

She also informs that her favorite singer Kishore Kumar was also a football freak “Kishore da used to sometimes kick the ball in his own goal post. He used to be the goalkeeper. Pancham & I used to laugh at his story” she signs off.

Evergreen Singing Asha Bhosle Joined The Twitter


The young and the yuppie apart, veterans too are revving up on the Twitter front. Shammi Kapoor and Amitabh Bachchan have confessed to being tweet happy. And an unlikely candidate too has joined their brigade: Asha Bhosle!

The 76 year old evergreen singing star joined the micro blogging site recently… and tweeted 62 times within a matter of a day's time!

Her maiden tweet: "Whew! Finished recording an all live album with sitar maestro Shujaat Khan (son of legendary Ustad Vilayat Khan). Felt like good old days."

Reportedly, it was her scion Anand Bhosle who initiated her into tweeting.

The inimitable singer posted a pic of hers performing live at the 'Rahul And I' concert at Toronto, apart from posting an album on Facebook and later tweeted about it, as much.

Bhosle's relishing her tweets, replying to fans, apart from having Twitter conversations with Amitabh Bachchan, Anupam Kher, Sanjay Dutt, Rajdeep Sardesai and other celebs.
