Taking over: Fans were treated to the first shot of Ashton Kutcher on the set of Two And A Half Men, alongside Jon Cryer and Angus T Jones as they spoke to David Latterman via satellite

It's the iconic image of three men sitting on the comfortable green couch at their beach-front Malibu home.

But something's different on the set of Two And A Half Men.

Fans were last night treated to the first glimpse of Ashton Kutcher filling the shoes of eternal bachelor Charlie Harper.

Out with the old: Charlie Sheen, seen with Jon and Angus, was fired from the show following his hard-partying, repeated hospital admissions and a bitter media campaign against his studio bosses

Ashton, 33, plays a new character, taking over from Charlie Sheen, who was sacked last year following bouts of hard-partying, repeated hospital admissions and a bitter media campaign against his studio bosses.

Funnyman: Ashton and his castmates delivered Letterman's Top Ten list, with last night's topic being reasons to watch the show. The top reason poked fun at his massive paycheck

The Late Show With David Letterman streamed into the 'Florida' living room - which is actually in the Warner Brothers studios in Burbank, California, although the show depicts them living on the beach in Malibu.

Ashton and his co-stars Jon Cryer and Angus T. Jones were called upon to present the show's Top Ten List.

And the apt subject was the top 10 reasons to watch the latest season of the show, which premieres with Ashton on Monday.

Big joke: Ashton poked fun at his 200 movie Dude Where's My Car which did dismally at the box office

A bearded Ashton read the top reason, poking fun at his rumoured $1million-an episode paycheck.

He waved his hand and said: ''Watch it, don't watch it - I still get paid anyway'.
Another reason was: 'We're switching to metric, so it will be 4.023 men.'

Ashton aslso joked: 'If you don't, I'll make Dude, Where's My Car 2,' referring to his movie in 2000 which performed dismally at the box office.

Angus, 17, who started on the show when he was nine, poked fun at the fact he was not a little boy anymore as the title of the show suggests.

Growing up: Angus T Jones, 17, who started on the show when he was nine, poked fun at the fact he was not a little boy anymore as the title of the show suggests

They fit well: The trio collapsed into fits of giggles as they joked with David

He joked: 'I'm 35 f***** damn years old.'

David, sitting in his Manhattan studios, quipped: 'That's the kid isn't it? I don't know. I don't understand anything.'

The actor looked relaxed with his new co-stars, sitting next to Angus in a loose blue shirt and grey trousers.

The home's staircase balustrade and wooden furnishings can be seen in the background.
Ashton will also appear in an episode of Ellen DeGeneres' talk show, Ellen, today.

He has shocked fans in a promo for the episode, appearing in his birthday suit.
The comedian was dressed in a robe for the backstage comedy sketch and when Ellen asked him if he was ready to drop trou, he replied, 'I'm ready. This is it.'

In the skit, the 53-year-old host raises an eyebrow and asks, 'Maybe you want to put clothes on?'

Host: David Letterman, seen in his New York studio, joked with Ashton and the others during his daily Top Ten list

'Oh, no. Have you seen the ad for the show?' he returns, adding, 'It’s getting a lot of attention, so I just figured I’m going to do everything nude from now on.'

The promo he's referring to, is of course the first Two and a Half Men poster that was released earlier this summer, in which he and his cast mates appear also naked, their modesty merely covered by a banner.

And apparently he's sticking with the nudity theme while he makes his rounds before the September 19 premiere on CBS.

And speaking of which, Ashton offered up nothing but naked honesty while discussing wife Demi Moore on Ellen's show.

Such a tease: Ellen is seen in a mock poster imitating an earlier billboard of the three actors to promote the new season of the show

The couple's sixth anniversary is coming up on September 24, and the professional punker is getting the love of his life nothing other than...candy.

When Ellen asked what he was buying his 15-years-older wife, Ashton announced that he was giving his sweetheart sweets.

'It’s sort of like a downfall. Right? You go from wood. Wood you can sort of come up with like, creative wood things, but candy? I don’t know what to do. It’s candy.'
He added, 'I am a little lost.'

So in love: The 33-year-old and his 48-year-old wife, Demi Moore, will celebrate their sixth wedding anniversary on September 24
