Kareena is gearing up for a special event to promote her forthcoming film BODYGUARD. Interestingly, Bebo will be soon felicitating real life bodyguards of top stars.

She has worked with Amitabh Bachchan earlier and has even played ladylove to Akshay Kumar, Hrithik Roshan, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Aamir Khan so it will be interesting to see how the beautiful actress honors the real life bodyguards of these top actors.

She is planning to get up close and personal with the bodyguards of Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Imran Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Saif Ali Khan and Akshay Kumar. She is all set to personally meet and felicitate them for their sincere work, honest commitment and dedication to put their lives in danger to protect their stars.

While Salman Khan brought his own bodyguard Shera into the limelight to launch the first look for the film, Kareena has not just taken a cue from her leading man but also gone a step ahead. She will be soon seen with the bodyguards of all the Bollywood A-listers at an event to honor their work.

The actress will introduce the people who keep the stars safe in their day-to-day lives and thank them for their services.

In the film, Salman Khan plays Kareena Kapoor’s bodyguard who follows her everywhere including her college classroom. Looks like, now it is the actress’s turn to thank the real life heroes who keep her away from danger.

BODYGUARD is Salman’s and Kareena’s upcoming Eid release. It will be the third Eid release of Salman after blockbusters like WANTED (2009) and DABANGG (2010).

The list of Indian actors walking the red carpet at the 64th Cannes International Film Festival is getting longer. The latest to join the bandwagon is Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan and he is excited about attending the gala, starting Wednesday.

Saif will represent liquor brand Chivas Regal, official partner of Cannes film festival.

"It’s really exciting to represent the brand at Cannes. There would be lots of international artists at the festival and it’s really nice to be part of that," said Saif Thursday, adding he will walk the red carpet in "a black tie and dinner jacket."

Asked if his actress girlfriend Kareena Kapoor will accompany him, he told reporters: "No, Kareena is not going to be in Cannes with me this time."

His mother Sharmila Tagore was once on jury at the Cannes film fest.

When asked about her reaction, he said, "You know, it’s not that someone is giving me the Oscars (Laughs). She said go and enjoy."

This year no Indian film has made to the competition section at the prestigious film fest, and Saif said: "I hope one day we can take our film there to compete."

Other stars from India to walk the red carpet include Aishwarya Rai, a regular at the gala event, Freida Pinto, Sonam Kapoor and Minissha Lamba.

Refuses to shoot unless the netbook she endorses is used and represented in her next film

Kareena Kapoor believes in putting her money where her mouth is. The actress recently took her role as brand ambassador for a ’size zero’ netbook (mini laptop) a tad too seriously.

Says a source, "Bebo loves the product and has one in every colour. She carries one to every shoot and is often seen working on it. In her upcoming film Atul Agnihotri’s Bodyguard, she plays a management student who does all her studies using her laptop. As such, she is required to use one in every scene."

When a netbook of another make was given to her, she threw a fit and refused to shoot. She even went as far as to insist that the ’size zero’ netbook be used in all her scenes in the film."

Kareena confirms, "It’s true that I am very particular about my role as brand ambassador and have used the ’size zero’ netbook for all my scenes in Bodyguard. I believe in my brand and wanted to represent it on screen as well."

Bollywood size zero actress Kareena Kapoor is miffed with Deepika Padukone as the latter is spreading rumours that she was the first choice for a song in Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Ra.One’.

Talking to a daily, a source said, “Recently, Dippy has been telling anyone willing to hear that she was the original choice for the Chamak Challo dance number in ‘Ra.One’ and that producer Shah Rukh Khan had her in mind for the item number.

And that Bebo threw a fit when she heard of it. Kapoor is upset and feels Dippy is only doing this to gain mileage from the ‘Dum Maaro Dum’ title track.”

Meanwhile, a source close to Kareena said, “Chamak Challo is not even an item number. Kareena is the film`s heroine and the song is part of the story so how can Deepika even be considered? These rumours amuse Bebo.

DP may be spreading this rumour as her DMD track isn`t the hit it was touted to be.”

When contacted ‘Ra.One’ director Anubhav Sinha, he said, “We never approached Deepika for an item song.

Chamak Challo is an integral part of the story. The song will be catchy, glamorous and sexy but it`s not an item song, which are usually random additions that don`t need a story.”

It’s a man’s world for sure. And when it comes to Bollywood, men do rule the silver screen. No matter how big a star an actress is, she does taste the bitterness of being the fairer sex. Despite being a huge brand in herself, Kareena Kapoor has been seconded in the promotional trailors of the Shah Rukh Khan starrer superhero flick ‘Ra.One’.

Moreover, last year blockbuster film ‘Robot’ starring southern superstar Rajinikanth did not have enough space both in the promos and in the film for someone as big as Aishwarya Rai, who has an international appeal.

"There is not much difference between ‘Ra.One’ and ‘Robot’, when it comes to the treatment meted out to the female protagonist. Like everyone is aware, the role of Aishwariya Rai in ‘Robot’ was largely inconsequential barring her song and dance sequences and those curve showing moves. It seems Kareena, despite being the female protagonist in the film does not have much to do in the film either. Now, it only goes on to show that Bollywood is still a man dominated territory," the source added.

Nonetheless, it’s the same industry that has produced masterpieces like ‘Mother India’, ‘Bandini’ and even newly released films like ‘Black’ and ‘No One Killed Jessica’. But will Bollywood ever give fair and equal importance to women in the industry? Only time will tell.

One of the funniest movies of all times, ‘Angoor’, will soon have a remake. The film that was originally made in 1982 by Gulzar is stated to be an iconic rib tickling comedy.

And now it will have a remake with Shah Rukh Khan essaying the role originally played by Sanjeev Kumar and Kareena Kapoor filling in at Moushumi Chatterjee’s place. To be directed by Rohit Shetty, the film is set to go on floors by the end of this year.

As for Angoor, the film had Sanjeev Kumar playing a detective novel aficionado and Deven Verma, who pretends to be a bhaang lover. Both characters have their twin counterparts and all hell breaks loose when they finally encounter each other.

What precedes this encounter is a series of goofball moments. And adding to ruckus is Moushumi Chatterjee, whose intemperate bawling tendencies just add to the confusion.

Shetty after his ‘Golmaal’ series is now working on script for Angoor with scriptwriter Sajid-Farhad. The original was based on Shakespeare’s play ‘A Comedy of Errors’.

Confirming the news, a source said, “After he made Golmaal 3, everyone was wondering what Rohit Shetty’s next plans were. People were guessing if he would make a fourth sequel but the director surprised everyone by choosing to work on an Angoor remake.

That he decided to work with Shah Rukh Khan on this came as a real shocker. It seems that Rohit is now wanting to work only with A-listers,”

Well, remakes are no easy task and we hope Shetty can do justice to the 1982 classic.
