The 20 finalists of Miss Jamaica World 2011 were revealed at the Spartan Health Club in Kingston. From the left, they are: Tiffanny Ellis, Hollanders Myers, Paula-Kay Beswick, Liane Chung, Gabrielle Blackwood, Maya Wilkinson, Arielle Foote, Dahlia Dwyer, Danielle Crosskill, Rene Harris, Reeshma Ragbeer,Kayla Mendes, Roxanne Elliott, Zhara McGraham, Tiffany Trotter, Michelle Daley, Chantel Davis, Leisa Williams, Monique Brady and Chavoy Gordon.

A panel of judges narrowed down the field of contestants to 20 from a group of 60. The finalists will have their first public appearance on July 23. Miss Jamaica World 2011 will take place on August 27 and the winner will represent Jamaica in Miss World 2011 in London, England next November.

Jamaica's most important beauty pageant is being organized by Dr. Terri-Karelle Reid, Miss Jamaica World 2005, who is the pageant director. Other members of the committee are Regina Beavers and Sara Lawrence, Miss Jamaica World 2001 and 2006, respectively.

Miss Jamaica Universe 2011

KINGSTON, Jamaica - Shakira Aminah Martin (25, 1.73m) was crowned Miss Jamaica Universe 2011 at the National Indoor Sports Centre in Kingston. She will represent Jamaica in Miss Universe 2011 in Sao Paulo, Brazil on September 12. Kadyan Salmon and Chantal Zaky finished second and third, respectively. Peta-Gaye Simpson and Tiffany Trotter completed the Top 5.
