Megastar Amitabh Bachchan will be among the host of celebrities to take part in the first ever Marathi International Film and Theatre Awards (MIFTA) to be held in Dubai next month.
Bachchan said he has given his consent for the participation.
"Apart from honouring our presence there, they also wish to honour our film `Vihir` which is in competition.
Incidentally, those that did not know, `Vihir` has won almost all the platitudes in all the prominent film festival fraternities of the world.
The most recent region being theNew York Film Festival, where it was given recognition and award," he wrote on his blog.
Filmmaker Mahesh Manjrekar, who is the brain behind the concept to take Marathi cinema overseas, directed Bachchan in AB Corp`s `Virudh`.
