Bachchan the actor, world class. Bachchan the farmer, first rate. Or so, Amitabh Bachchan would have us believe.
Reportedly, the Bigger Bachchan who was in Lucknow to attend nuptials in the Sahara India Parivar, devoted time to indulge in a bout of farming at the 15 acres of land that he owns at Kakori, near Lucknow.
The onset of winters signals the sowing of the wheat crop and Bachchan Senior was all keen to savour the experience.
A close relative of Bachchan states in a media quote, "Before Amitabh came down to Lucknow, he gave me a call stating that since he was coming down, he wanted to visit the farm with Jaya as it was time for sowing the seeds and he wanted to oversee it personally.."
Adds the relative, "He also drove the tractor in all possible directions and he was quite excited over the whole thing, because he enjoyed every moment of it."
Expectedly, Bachchan’s post on his site conveys the excitement in full measure stating, "In Lucknow for a wedding…visited my farm… and…and…plowed my land… and drove my tractor, which digs and levels before sowing…"
The Big B is said to be expressly fond of Punjabi food and as per sources, he hogged on his faves: ’makke di roti de sarson da saag’ for lunch.
