It’s not just glam and hotness that define Neetu Chandra. The pretty lass, who was in the city to shoot for a song in Mysskin’s forthcoming Yuddham Sei, is also involved in many social causes. In fact, she’s taken it upon herself to pioneer the cause of blood donation.
She will be organising a campaign in aid of the cause in Bihar (where she was born) and Maharashtra this week. She will also be holding a blood donation camp for a week where she will also be donating blood. “Today, the world celebrates Blood Donor Day, a day dedicated to thank all blood donors. It’s our duty to ensure that safe blood is always available for transfusion,” she says.Ever since she joined hands with the UNICEF India for their AIDS awareness programme three years ago, the issue has been close to her heart. “I recently went on a field trip to the interiors of Maharashtra and Bihar. I was shocked to find that an entire village was HIV positive.
And when they come across people who aren’t HIV positive, they get jealous and try to inflict injuries on them. This sad state has to change,” she adds. Meanwhile, Neetu’s all excited about shooting with director Ameer for a song in Yuddham Sei. “I’ve heard that Ameer usually keeps to himself on the sets. But, he’s such a fun person to be with. And man, is he energetic! He’s not even a trained dancer but danced like an expert. I would love to work with him again,” she signs off.
