Glitzy: Dannii Minogue showcased an incredible dress at a function for Melbourne Spring Fashion Week 2011

Dannii Minogue was dripping with jewels as she attended a fashion event in her homeland of Oz.

The former X Factor judge looked ready to storm the Strictly Come Dancing stage as she stepped out in an incredible gown last night.

Although the spangly garment was modestly high-necked and reached the floor, it was daringly cut to her navel with just tan-coloured mesh in place.

Defying her 39 years, the super-tanned star attended a function to unveil her favourite looks at Melbourne Spring Fashion Week 2011.

Partner Kris Smith also put in an appearance, helping Dannii, who is the Ambassador of the event, ascend the stairs in the trailing dress.

Fellow Australia's Got Talent judge Brian McFadden showed his support by joining in the celebrations with girlfriend Vogue Williams.

The former Westlife singer looked rather dapper in his suit and even resembled a young Gary Barlow.

He proudly showed off his missus, oblivious the latest news on ex-fiancée Delta Goodrem who is sunning herself in Mexico with toyboy Nick Jonas.

Last Friday, mum-of-one Dannii showcased a new cropped pixie cut at the opening party.

She wore an equally eye-catching outfit, stepping out in a gold dress with a slit just below the bust and stretching to above the navel.

And despite nearing the big 4-0 in October, Dannii has no plans to tone down her audacious wardrobe.

Pixie cut: Dannii shimmered in a gold dress as she stepped out with a new hairdo last week, sporting a much shorter and sleeker barnet

She said: 'I think getting older is fun. Definitely, having perspective - from nearly losing my sister and quite a few very close friends, and losing my best friend - means you realise every day is such a gift.

'I really am bowled over if someone says, "Oh I'm getting old".

'I think, "Aren't you lucky?" It's impossible for me to even look at it that way. I embrace it, love it.'

Speaking of her looming birthday, she added: 'I'm going to be wearing very short skirts and lots of sequins. Rock-chick mama!'
