Says a source, "Recently, there was buzz about Hrithik joining in Shahrukh Khan’s birthday celebrations as he’s extremely close to King Khan. Apparently, producers Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani were keen that Hrithik do a special cameo in Don 2."

But Farhan and Ritesh want to keep Hrithik’s role hidden till the film’s release as it’s one of the highlights of Don 2. Kareena Kapoor Is Not Very Happy With Rohit Shetty

Golmaal 3 New (4)

Director Rohit Shetty has carved a niche for himself in the industry with his blockbuster Golmaal series. With his unique sense of comedy he has managed to create popular characters in the film who have their unique traits and perfect comedy timing.

However, it is reported that actress Kareena Kapoor, who has been a part of the series from the second film, is upset with the director of the film. In Golmaal Returns, the second part, Bebo was portrayed as a television serial freak, married women named Ekta, who kept on suspecting her husband (played by Ajay Devgn). The chemistry between the two was apprecaited by the people and the film turned out to be a big hit of the year.

However, Kareena is not very happy with the developments made in the third film. She says that the treatment of the film this time is very boring and the film has a lot of repetitive comic situations. She reveals that she was fed up of shooting in the same locations again and again.

Reportedly, Bebo is quite miffed with the director Rohit Shetty. According to her, Rohit has given a very out-dated look to the third film, which will hit the theaters during Diwali. The reports also suggest that most of the scenes in the film have been shot in Goa where the earlier two films were shot. Kareena is very annoyed with the repetition of the shooting location and thus doubts the directing skills of Shetty.

As per the sources, Bebo thought that the shooting locations could have been changed to give the film a different look. A recent report has indicated that Kareena wants Rohit to shoot the film in foreign locales.

Hope ’all goes well’ between the two.

Vivek Oberoi Personally To Invite Aishwarya Rai

Rattha Charitram new (22)

Vivek Oberoi doesn’t believe in moving on or so it seems. The actor, who has been trying for long to mend fences with the Bachchans has now gone a step ahead to break the ice as he personally went to invite Abhishek Bachchan and his wife Aishwarya for his wedding on Oct 29.

And even though his helpless pleas for forgiveness have often been met with a cold shrug by the unforgiving Jr Bachchan, Vivek is leaving no stones unturned to change that equation.

As per reports, Oberoi went across to Mehboob Studios in Bandra to invite his ex Aishwarya Rai’s husband, Abhishek Bachchan, for his wedding on October 29.

And Vivek took director Apoorva Lakhia’s help to call Abhishek. Sources state that Vivek called up Apoorva to help him invite Bachchan Jr. It’s a known fact that the Oberois and the Bachchans have always shared bad vibes, owing to Aishwarya Rai. And even though Vivek has been trying to make peace the Bachchans for long, he has been unsuccessful in his efforts.

When contacted by a news daily, Lakhia said, “I didn’t take Vivek to Mehboob Studios. I had gone to meet Abhishek, who was shooting there for Rohan Sippy’s film Dum Maro Dum. I made Abhishek and Vivek talk on the phone, which is when Vivek invited Abhishek for his wedding.”

James Cameron Plans For Two New Avatar Movies

jake_sully_in_war_avatar_movie-wide

Twentieth Century Fox film studio and director James Cameron on Wednesday unveiled plans for two new "Avatar" movies, erasing any lingering doubt over whether they would again team up for sequels to the biggest blockbuster movie of all time.

Cameron promised fans of the $2.8 billion global box office bonanza that he would "not back off the throttle" of the original movie`s visual and emotional sci-fi story about the tall, blue Na`vi people who dwell on the lush moon, Pandora.

"Avatar 2" is projected to land in theaters in December 2014 with a third film coming one year later.

"`Avatar` was conceived as an epic work of fantasy -- a world that audiences could visit, across all media platforms, and this moment marks the launch of the next phase of that world," Cameron said in a statement.

The "Titanic" director unleashed "Avatar" on audiences last year with new 3D technology and an emotional tale that mixed Hollywood-style action with a tale of humans trying to exploit the natural resources on Pandora.

The combination of adventure and environmentalism thrilled audiences. Along with the massive box office -- "Avatar" dwarfs the No. 2 film ever, "Titanic," with $1.8 billion in ticket sales -- "Avatar" also became the best-selling Blu-ray DVD of all time.

The movie earned nine Oscar nominations and won three, and it was named the year`s best movie at the Golden Globe Awards.

"We had no higher priority, and can feel no greater joy, than enabling Jim to continue and expand his vision of the world of `Avatar.` Fox Filmed Entertainment Chairmen Jim Gianopulos and Tom Rothman said in a joint statement.

Cameron promised that the second and third movies would have "self contained" stories that are part of the greater story arc of the Na`vi struggling against humans.

Back in August, he told Reuters he wanted to direct a sequel and a third film, and that when writing the screenplay, he would write two different movies at the same time. Production is scheduled to begin in 2011.

Amitabh Bachchan Beaten The Younger Heroes

Robot Premier (10)

Bachchan seems to have beaten the heroes of the younger generation – Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar. Actor Amitabh Bachchan seems to have beaten the heroes of the younger generation – Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar, at least on the small screen. Bachchan, who is doing a phenomenal job as the host of ’Kaun Banega Crorepati’ had tough competition what with the popular Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar also occupying prime time slots on other channels.

The presence of big stars as hosts on the small screen paved way for a mini TRP battle, and Big B seems to be leading so far. According to reports, ’KBC’ - Sony - opened with a 6.2 Television Viewership Rating (TVR), while Salman’s ’Bigg Boss’ - Colors - fell short and clocked 4.8 TVRs. Akshay Kumar’s ’Master Chef’ - Star Plaus - failed to add the much desired spice in comparison with 2.6 TVRs.

A unit member of Star Plus’ ’Master Chef’ said, "It’s not a loss for us. Of course, every reality show has different sensibilities and formats, and the three that you are comparing cater to widely different range of target groups, each with a completely different set of demographics. Every show has its own place, every host his own seat and every channel its own goal."

The Embassy Of Switzerland Felicitated Yash Chopra

yashchopra

The Embassy of Switzerland felicitated Bollywood dream merchant, Yash Chopra with the “Swiss Ambassador’s Award 2010” for his contribution in promoting ‘Brand Switzerland’ through his movies. The award was presented at a scintillating evening hosted at the lawns of the Swiss Ambassador’s residence on Monday, October 25, 2010.

Popular actor Deepika Padukone was present on the occasion and congratulated Yashji on being presented this prestigious award. The highlight of the evening’s cultural performances was the Swiss Ambassador’s opening of the ceremony with music from Waqt (1965) that he brilliantly played on a Flügelhorn. This was followed by colourful dance performances by troupes to songs from Yash Chopra’s films.

While presenting the award to Mr. Chopra, the Swiss Ambassador H.E Mr. Philippe Welti said “We are pleased to honour Mr. Yash Chopra with the first of its kind award. Mr. Chopra’s association with Switzerland dates back to 1965 when he was present at the very same lawns while shooting for his golden jubilee hit, Waqt. Our association has come a long way since then with numerous of his movies showing the splendid serenity of Switzerland. To many Indians, a Yash Chopra movie has been their window to a scenic dreamland… a window to Switzerland.”

“I am honoured by the gesture shown by the Swiss Ambassador H.E Philippe Welti by giving me this award. Switzerland has always been my first choice of destination for shooting outside India. Be it for its picture perfect snow capped mountains or lush green fields, it is truly a heaven on earth that has made every angle, every shot and every frame of my movies breathtaking with the scenes vividly etched in peoples’ minds” said Yash Chopra on receiving the Swiss Ambassador’s Award.

Mr. Chopra’s romance with Switzerland began during his honeymoon and has continued ever since. On many instances in the past, the Swiss Government has honored Yash Chopra for helping rediscover Switzerland - he was presented a special Award by screen goddess Ursula Andress, on behalf of the Swiss Government. The entire unit of Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, the 1995 Bollywood blockbuster shot extensively in Switzerland, was given a rare Swiss recognition in Mumbai for its successful running for over 500 weeks. In fact, a lake in Switzerland has been unofficially named ’The Chopra Lake’ because of the way Mr. Chopra has used it in films.

Hence it was only apt when Mr. Chopra, who has shot a portion of all his films in Switzerland, felt the need to share his romance with the country with his fans and decided to partner with the reputed Brandinvest AG, in bringing the “YRF Enchanted Journey” to life - a tour which gives consumers a firsthand opportunity to live the authentic YRF experience by visiting original sites and locations in Switzerland used by Yash Raj Films.

Swiss Ambassador’s Award is presented to personalities, who have played an outstanding role in promoting relations between India and Switzerland. This award is being presented for the first time in 2010.

Some of the Yash Raj Films that have been shot in Switzerland are:
Chandni (1989) | Darr (1993) | Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995) | Mohabbatein (2000) | Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai (2002) | Mujhse Dosti Karoge (2002) | Veer-Zaara (2004) |
Laaga Chunari Mein Daag (2007) | Bachna Ae Haseeno (2008)

Mumbai High Court Ruled In Favour Of Adnan Sami

adnan_sami

On Thursday the high court in Mumbai ruled in favour of Adnan and his current wife Roya and denied his former wife Sabah Galadari possession and custody of the home that Adnan and Roya now occupy. The court also refused Sabah’s plea that Roya be evicted from the home.

After the ruling, Adnan said, "No, I don’t feel triumphant. Because the person who has lost the case happens to be someone who was once an integral part of my life. Once Sabah started a fight to throw me out of the house I had to fight back specially when my wife Roya moved in with me. To ask her to leave her husband’s home, that was the rock bottom of vindictive aspirations."

Jokes Adnan, "I hate to say this. But I feel a kind of emptiness. Every day I’d wake up with the court cases weighing on my mind. I’d have to go through reams of legal paper with my lawyer. All that is over. But, no hard feelings for the lady who tried to throw me and my wife out of our home." The first thing Adnan intends to do is throw a party in his home.

Adnan’s lawyer Vibhav Krishna confirms that Sabah has been barred from visiting or fighting for the possession of the 13th and 14th floor of the building where Adnan and Roya reside. Adnan is however, willing to provide accommodation to Sabah on the 12th floor of the same building or in another building.

Akshay Kumar Unlike Aishwarya Rai Diva Image

Action-replay-4

From Shilpa Shetty to Katrina Kaif, Akshay Kumar has worked with most of the leading ladies in Bollywood but the star finds it odd that filmmakers never thought of pairing him with Aishwarya Rai.

The duo are coming together for a full-fledged romantic film for the first time with Vipul Shah’s ’Action Replayy’ that comes after their brief track in ’Khakee’.

"Our on-screen relationship in ’Khakee’ was quite unconventional and actually came with a chilling twist. Still, people had really liked us in ’Khakee’ and it is rather odd that Aish and I did not work together after that," Akshay told PTI.

Talking about his co-star in the movie, Akshay says that unlike her diva image, Aishwarya was fun to work with.

"Ash is simply fabulous and one of the reasons that we shared incredible compatibility as actors and people is because she brings in the same focus, energy and discipline to her work as I do," Akshay said.

They will play a bickering couple onscreen in the movie but Aishwarya was devoid of starry tantrums on the sets of the movie, which is slated to release this Diwali.

"Aishwarya is not a diva. She does not throw tantrums. She does not come with any baggage whatsoever and is an extremely easy person to work with. It’s refreshing to work with someone with whom I have not worked with for a while."

After a string of movies with Katrina Kaif, Akshay was seen opposite Deepika Padukone (Housefull), Trisha Krishnan (Khatta Meetha), Aishwarya Rai ( Action Replayy), Anuoshka Sharma (Patiala House) and Sonam Kapoor (Thank You).

Does not he believe that his pairing with Katrina has been over exposed?
"When I do a movie with Katrina, people say ’What? You are working with her again?’. On the other hand when I don’t do a movie with her for some time, people say, ’Oh, why didn’t you take Kat, you’re the best onscreen couple’."

While Akshay looks for the release of ’Tees Maar Khan’ in 2011, the wait continues for the leading lady of ’Joker’. As things stand today, it won’t be Katrina as the toss up is between Deepika Padukone and Sonakshi Sinha.

Freida Pinto Working In An Indian Film

Freida-Pinto-Hot- (3)

Freida Pinto is out to prove she’s no one-film wonder with her performance in "Miral", based on Palestinian journalist Rula Jebreal’s semi-autobiographical novel. The actress believes in speaking through her work and says she won’t mind working in an Indian film -- provided she falls in love with the script.

"If Indian films came my way and I loved the script, I would say yes. Quite contrary to what people believe, I haven’t said yes to every international script that has come my way. I have said no to quite a few. Similarly, unless and until I fall in love with the Indian script, I will not do it," Freida told IANS in an interview here.

Screened in the Narrative competition section at the Abu Dhabi Film Festival, "Miral" that opens in Jerusalem in 1948 is the true story of Hind Husseini, who turns her family home into the Dar Al-Tifl Al-Arabi Institute, providing hope and education to orphans, especially girls. Freida’s character too grows up in the same orphanage.

The film is directed by American artist and filmmaker Julian Schnabel and Freida says he cast her after seeing her in "Slumdog Millionaire".

"I auditioned for it, Danny Boyle put me on tape for this because Julian requested us while we were doing a press junket for ’Slumdog Millionaire’ in LA.

"I read the script and I completely fell in love with it. I felt this story definitely needed to be told to the world. I was getting an opportunity to be part of a story that talks about peace, so why not? That’s how the film happened."

The 26-year-old speaks English with a Palestinian accent in the war film. "I’m lucky, I can do accents well. I can listen and I can repeat what people say. So Julian set me on a mission - I didn’t have an accent coach, I had real people to learn from. I went to the old city of Jerusalem, stayed with a Palestinian family for eight days.

"I also went to the orphanage where Rula grew up. I picked up whatever I could from the students and local people. I recorded everything and found out words that are common and found my own accent. That’s my take on my Palestinian accent," she said.

The actress says she doesn’t have to prove anything to anybody back home and hopes Indians watch "Miral" since it talks about peace.

"I never had to prove myself while doing ’Slumdog…’ either. When the film went out, it did the best it could and did really well and that’s the story of my life. I didn’t have to go out of my way to prove a point in my first film, I don’t have to do it in any film," said Freida.

"I would definitely want to show ’Miral’ to India, but not to prove a point...the film (is) about peace which is so relevant in my country and in the countries that are warring or have some kind of conflict with neighbouring countries," she said.

Freida also got lucky to work with star Hollywood filmmaker Woody Allen in "You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger".

"I auditioned for Woody Allen’s film too, quite contrary to what people think that these roles just fell in my lap. He saw me in ’Slumdog Millionaire’ and thought I would be great in that part. But he made me audition because he needed to know I’d be able to do it.

"He is definitely very unique and a genius in what he does. What’s most amazing about him is that he will take up serious and disturbing topics and punch the right amount of humour in it, which makes the film so much enjoyable and less depressing."

So what are the other international projects in her kitty?

"I have worked with Tarsem Singh in ’Immortals’. It’s a Greek epic. I play Phaedra, the oracle. Again there is no ethnicity to the character - she could be from any part of the world. The film is so multicultural that we never talk about ethnicity, though we talk about Greek places. We shot in a studio in Montreal and it’s in English. I did speak a bit of ancient Greek," she said.

"I also did a film called ’Rise Of The Apes’ with Rupert Wyatt. It’s a prequel to ’Planet of the Apes’," Freida said.

"Since I’ve taken acting as my profession, my ambition is to keep doing it and keep getting better. So I guess, my ambition is to enjoy life and enjoy my work as well," she concluded.

Katrina Kaif Prefers The Desi Curd-Rise

Katrina Kaif Red (1)

Safedi is not done yet. Now my dhobi wants to share with me some gharelu information on Katrina Kaif. Seems the lissome lass who spends most of her time away from home for her various shoots, prefers the desi curd-rise for dinner every other day!

And you know what? Kat prefers dahi-chawal the most because it is oil-free and healthy. Sometimes, she adds a little dal for flavour... And I’m also informed that the actor prefers to cook it herself.

No, it’s not that she doesn’t trust anyone else’s cookery skills, but it’s solely because she finds cooking therapeutic. So when she does decide to prepare some dal tadka, she plays some soothing instrumental music for a more relaxed ambience as she tries her culinary skills. Chalo, badhiya hai.

We Apologise-Saif Ali Khan And Kareena Kapoor

Kareena Kapoor (12)

Turning up late at events has become a fad for celebrities. But this time around Bollywood’s ’it’ couple - Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor - were in a rude shock when the media collectively staged a walk out after waiting for them for over three hours at a launch of a shoe brand.

Aware of the media’s walkout, the couple turned up in a rather sombre mood. Kapoor took the first step to apologise to the few people who had stayed back.

"We apologise to have made you wait for so long. There was a major traffic jam due to last day of the visarjan and hence we got held up," she said, as Khan added, "We were getting restless in the car but we couldn’t do much."

While their delay miffed many, the fact is that Kapoor is the first choice among advertising professionals for brand endorsements. According to a report by AdEx India (TAM Media Research), she is the leading female actor endorsing the maximum number of brands.

Katrina Kaif's Hit-Chatting With Colleagues

Katrina-Kaif-Sexy-Harpers-Bazaar-Photo-Shoot- (3)

Howdee doo hoo my yummy malai sandwiches! The hectic working schedule just doesn’t seem to ease up for me, I tell you. But no point complaining. A gal like moi has to work hard for her daily platter of caviar and some more. So before I digress any more, let me get started with your dose of daily goss. Read on sweetums..

For starters, Sher Lock Holmes is wondering why actresses with long reshmi zulfein sit too close to a fan for their own comfort. Huh? He goes on to say that they should understand that their hair could get entangled in the fan’s blades. But no! So?

So he tells me that the latest to overlook her close proximity to a fan was Katrina Kaif while filming Mere Brother Ki Dulhan in Delhi recently. The lissome lass was too busy chit-chatting with colleagues to notice the pankha whirring dangerously close behind her.

Bas, aur kya? Before she realised, her hair had got entangled in the fan. However, thanks to alert co-star Ali Zafar, it was switched off immediately. And then, he helped Kat set her tresses free from the pankha’s blades in no time.

Obviously, Kat couldn’t stop thanking Zafar enough... for had it not been for his presence of mind, it could have resulted in a bad accident, says Sher Lock bhai, reminding me of Sushmita Sen, who suffered a terribly sprained neck years ago due to the fan while shooting for It Happened One Night, Mahesh Manjrekar’s English version of his Astitva. Hmm.

Salman Khan Visited A Children's Home

One of the best times to catch Salman Khan at his candid best is to watch him interact with kids.

The brawny actor turns into a child himself when he does that and that’s what people saw when he visited a children’s home the other day along with Milind Deora.

After distributing chocolates and sweets among them, Salman, looking dapper in blue jeans, grey shirt and glares, sat down cross-legged on the floor and chatted with them for a while.

One little kid even got the chance to sit in his lap as he did that! And the lucky kid certainly couldn’t wipe off that grin from his face after that!
